in the quiet moments.

when all i can hear in our little house is the hum of the refrigerator, here are some of the things i think about:
  • my yoga practice is like therapy.... only cheaper.
  • being married has already exceeded my expectations. the fact that hubby and i are both ridiculously excited about our new vacuum, that's just icing. :) (p.s. how domesticated are we?! yikes.)
  • pie-baking might be my new favorite hobby. does anyone have a favorite recipe? yesterday i was wondering if i could bake a pie with figs in it... hm.
  • pursuing my dreams full-time is harder than i thought it would be. but i am still so lucky to have the chance.
so, what are you thinking about lately?

happy november, friends!

a little pomegranate treat.

i am currently away on my honeymoon, but i hope you enjoy this pre-scheduled post. xo.

i drink sparkling water like it's my job. so, every once in a while, i like adding a little pizazz to it.

Gorgeous.
Pomegranates are so amazing.
Cheers!

the seeds add a little crunch along with a delicious splash of flavor. it also works well with champagne... i've been told! :)

cheers!

lovely tea towel.

happy monday, friends!

maybe it's the soon-to-be wife in me, but i think this tea towel is adorable. bonus: it's made using 100% organic cotton.

yes, i would like one please, thank you very much. :)

a little of this and a little of that.

lately i am...

feeling good about: crossing things off my to-do list.
not feeling good about: how my to-do list is still mysteriously growing.

feeling good about: wedding paper goods arriving in the mail! (sneak peek coming soon.)
not feeling good about: the massive paper cut on my right index finger. owie.

feeling good about: all my exciting plans for july including daily yoga.
not feeling good about: getting up at 5:30 a.m. to practice three times a week. (what was i thinking signing up for that?)

feeling good about: all the big changes in my future.
not feeling good about: all the big changes in my future. (cripes!)

feeling good about: all the healthy smoothies i've been consuming lately.
not feeling good about: all the potato chips i've also been consuming lately.

can you relate? :) what are you feeling good, and not-so good about? i'd love to hear.

something small to brighten your day.

if you touch your nose to your computer screen, you can almost imagine their soft little bunny noses. :)

i heart chemex coffeemakers.

ohhhhh, i wouldn't mind getting one of these for christmas. (hint, hint, simon.)

this beaker-like coffee maker is not only chic, but it's also famous for changing the way americans think about coffee-brewing. you can read more about it here.

yum.

for all you cupcake lovers out there...

... these cupcake liners from cupcake social are the coolest thing i've seen all week! it makes me want to rush home and make another batch of red velvet cupcakes... just so i can use fancy liners.

wine, indeed.

simon and i are big fans of wine, (buying it, drinking it, giving it to our friends... you name it.) so imagine my delight when i saw this cute wine tote. wouldn't this be an adorable hostess gift?

wallpaper.

in my humble opinion, this might be one of the most creative things i've ever seen. can you image how awesome this would look in an office or walk in closet? sigh. to see more, visit

sealed with a kiss.

i've been considering trying to teach myself calligraphy, or some other kind of beautiful hand writing. what do you think, sweet readers? do you think it's feasible?

happiness is...

... pumpkin beer and listening to the radio.

... fresh brewed coffee and discovering gorgeous vintage typewriters in second hand shops.

... the smell of clean laundry and bundles of yarn (in our wedding colors no less).

what has been making you happy lately?

i like this quote.

"the irony of commitment is that it's deeply liberating -- in work, in play, in love. the act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around like rational hesitation. to commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life."

what's on the menu today?

what are you doing today? here's my plan...

i hope you have a happy day :)

these boots are made for nina.

these moccasin vintage boots from la vintage are one of a kind and already sold. isn't that just so sad? i can't remember the last time i coveted boots this much... woe is me.

my friday.

  • pumpkin bread and apple cider... for breakfast
  • new painted nails
  • hot cappuccino from my favorite cafe
  • homemade vegetable soup
  • a mason jar candle holder (and a small view of our street. i like to tell myself it looks like london. what do you think?)
  • a quick stop at the farmer's market for some organic apples. (i am going to try to make homemade applesauce tonight! thank you, simon's mom, for the idea.)
  • and finally, this 12 minute short film. (thank you, simon's brother, for sending it to me.) it's the best thing i've seen in a long time. and maybe i cried a little... check it out.

the good 'ol days.

i'm not gonna lie... some days i miss old phones. and how we used to sit still and really listen to the person on the other line.

and some days i miss looking in real encyclopedias. my mother used to love grabbing a world book to answer random questions.

and finally, some days i miss the sound of my grandfather's typewriter. maybe i've just been watching too much mad men!

what do you miss?

our honeymoon.

simon and i have been brainstorming our honeymoon since the day we got engaged (priorities, you know). this weekend i think we made a final decision and we are so psyched...

can you guess where? (update: you guys are good! we're going to new zealand!)

crunch crunch.

dear friends,
i cordially invite you to meet me at the cafe on the corner. we'll eat baguettes with cheese, sip some bubbly, admire each other's jewelry, and talk about how much we love tights.

see you soon?

etsy love.

as promised, let's talk about something cheerful. this vintage etsy shop makes me smile.

so clever, right? i've never seen items presented in such a fun, unique way.

p.s. speaking of etsy, don't miss olivia's new store filled with lovely little cake stands. so dreamy!
