our wedding invitation.

<span class=

almost as soon as simon and i got engaged, i decided i wanted ellie of hello tenfold and mint design blog, to design our wedding invitation. she agreed (hurray!) and then proceeded to indulge me and my inspiration boards, as well as my numerous long emails and random ideas. :)

and i couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out: delicate, romantic and understated. now the fun begins, as the rsvp cards start showing up in our mailbox!

thanks, as always, for letting me share all of this with you. :)

lovely tea towel.

happy monday, friends!

maybe it's the soon-to-be wife in me, but i think this tea towel is adorable. bonus: it's made using 100% organic cotton.

yes, i would like one please, thank you very much. :)

a girl can dream.

the past couple of days i have been working in a very uninspired place: a hotel. but if i close my eyes and try hard enough, i can almost pretend i am sitting at a desk like this one and that the shelves above me are filled with my favorite books, all kinds of quirky memorabilia, and photographs of my loved ones.

(and in my dream, i am also listening to miles davis and a dog is curled up at my feet. sigh.)

now i'm curious... where do you usually work from? do you love it or hate it?

a wall of pots.

this adorable boston home has a wall of homemade ceramic pots. isn't that the coolest idea?

note: kayla and wes, if you'd like to have me over to see this awesomeness in person, i'm happy to bring the wine.

this morning...

it has been snowing in boston! it's been so very cozy. aside: if you want to read a beautiful little description of what it's like to wake up to snow, go here.

anyway, for some reason, i was so drawn to this desk today. maybe it's because i think my snow hat, and my snow boots would be a perfect little addition to this room. and of course, a big mug of coffee. and a sleeping dog. and oh... a space heater for my little toes.

isn't it so calming?

where do you wish you were today?

adorable escort card idea.

as you all know, corsage flower brooches have been all the rage this year, so why not add them to your escort cards? if we didn't already have a plan, i'd totally be stealing this idea... too cute.

speaking of wine...

simon and i feel incredibly lucky to have found and be working with our wedding photographer, meredith of andunlimited photography, so we brought her a little thank you gift on saturday.
i didn't have a
wine tote or anything else snazzy to decorate it in, so i just used some things i had around the house (kraft paper, ribbon, baker's twine and other miscellaneous things in my craft closet).

when she got home, she photographed it. i just love her style and the way she captures details, don't you? (click on image to see it larger.)

thanks again, meredith!

p.s. engagement pictures coming to the blog very soon!

wallpaper.

in my humble opinion, this might be one of the most creative things i've ever seen. can you image how awesome this would look in an office or walk in closet? sigh. to see more, visit

a sweet barn wedding.

i love how intimate and
anthropologie-esque this wedding is.

simply lovely.

birds and blooms.

i love dutch door's little etsy shop and their limited edition prints featuring all fifty states' birds and flowers. i think the massachusetts print is gorgeous with the black capped chickadee and the mayflower.

do you know what is your state bird and flower are?

one step at a time.

aren't these stairs gorgeous? artist and professor horst glasker painted these 112 steps in wuppertal, germany to convey a different emotion or behavior associated with relationships. some examples are "to forgive", "to cuddle", "to offer resistance", and "to seduce."

don't you love it when artists take a mundane task, or common piece of architecture and make so much more exciting? some day maybe i'll go there and run up and down them...

the good 'ol days.

i'm not gonna lie... some days i miss old phones. and how we used to sit still and really listen to the person on the other line.

and some days i miss looking in real encyclopedias. my mother used to love grabbing a world book to answer random questions.

and finally, some days i miss the sound of my grandfather's typewriter. maybe i've just been watching too much mad men!

what do you miss?
